MacLeans Magazine has voted Saskatoon as the country's most dangerous city. Now to those of us who live here that is not a great surprise. Open the newspaper everyday or go on to saskatoon home page and the first thing you see is one or two stabblings, a couple of robberies with violence and throw in the occasional home invasion and you pretty much have a typical day in Saskatoon. Yet the mayor says MacLeans is wrong. He says they used statistics from two years ago. Well who cares about that. We as citizens haven't noticed any decrease in crime in the last two years. Then the ultimate spin, the mayor says MacLeans has misrepresented the facts. Says the mayor because we are doing such a good job (I assume he's talking about catching the bad guys) it gets reported in a negative fashion. Come on Mr Mayor, do you really buy that. When I open my paper, listen to
the news or go to the above mentioned internet site and see or hear no crime reported or even a slight decrease, then I will believe you are doing a great job. Till then I kind of lean towards MacLeans.
