Another round last night of the CBC expressing their indignation at the Fox news Redeye insensitive remarks about the Canadian military. Agreed the remarks were stupid and show a complete ignorance of Canada, but really is Gutfeld and crew guilty of anything more than bad timing and poor journalism ? Had four Canadian soldiers not been killed, would the CBC, who really do not support Canada's military presence, be quite so indignant ?
And what about our own Rick Mercer and his shots at Americans through his Ask an American segment. Who hasn't seen Mercer's smug smirk as he dupes another American with his tales of the Saskatchewan navy and Canadians emerging from their igloos to ride on the backs of polar bears.
And what about Don Cherry and his shots at European hockey players or French Canadians who wear visors ? Should the Prime Minister of Sweden demand an apology ?
Too much attention has been paid to the Red Eye knuckleheads. Peter MacKay and the rest of us offended Canadians have given them far more publicity than they deserve. And as for the CBC, I think the pot may be calling the kettle black.
