Really folks, you could make a movie about this as long as you had the Keystone Cops or Charlie Chaplin in the leading role.
Inmates escape from the Regina Correctional Centre right under the noses of their guards. For months, these prisoners worked on digging a hole to escape while no less than 87 guards at various times were on duty. And yet not one of these guards noticed or reported what was happening.
A report yesterday says there is plenty of blame to go around but doesn't really blame anyone. There is a half hearted explanation about over crowding, understaffing, the usual excuses and then something about no management being on duty and when theres no management people around to supervise, then staff won't do their jobs.
Really ? Even when it extends to guards preventing dangerous offenders from escaping. You must be kidding.
Heads need to roll on this one not the usual shove it under the rug but will they ? Don't hold your breath !
