The Highway From Hell

Imagine this highway covered in snow drifts, ice and pot holes and you got it today

Today I drove the Highway from Hell as it is affectionately known. Actually when I arrived in St. Brieux and talked to some of the local residents, they gave me some additional names for this highway, but if I post them then I am sure someone will flag this site for inappropriate content.
I turned on to Highway 368 near Muenster and proceeded North to St. Brieux. My first thought was, this is a highway. I have seen better cattle trails in Alberta.
The trail (Highway 368) was completely snow covered. You could hardly see the ditches on either side and even my GPS was telling me that I was driving in a field.
When I passed through Lake Lenore and came out the other side, a corner near the railway tracks was completely covered in a huge snow drift. A little red car had been unmercifully tossed into the ditch and to get through that drift, I had to completely floor the gas pedal of my truck, dodge the obstacle of the little red car
and come out the other side. Where are the snow ploughs in Saskatchewan ?
In three days on the road, I have seen a total of one snow plough.
Well I finally made it to St Brieux. Incidentally the picture I have posted was one I was directed to by a local resident. Could you imagine this highway in summer after a rain. Or in spring ?
Its amazing that this kind of disrepair can be allowed to happen. After all St. Brieux is home to some pretty large industry. I sure hope no tourists or dignataries choose to travel up that road. Come to think of it, maybe Brad Wall and
his delegation could cancel their Toronto trip and go for a little drive in the
Saskatchewan countryside starting with Highway 368. Now thats not going to happen is it?

Ok I'm a political junkie. Provincial, federal, world - I follow it all. Also enjoy talk radio

Kind of said most of it above. I do love to travel though. Would love to visit every major city out there. Enjoy learning the culture of other countries. I'm a people watcher and a people person. Some say I love to talk and I guess that would be accurate
