MANDATE - the power granted by the electorate

This morning I heard several calls on phone in talk shows. Different topics but the same worn out opposition.
The first call concerned the Saskatchewan government selling crown corporations. Whether they are or are not is not the issue, but this caller vehemently stated - the government does not have the mandate to sell any portion of the crown corporations. The second issue concerned nuclear power in Saskatchewan. Again a different caller stated the government has no mandate to explore nuclear power.
MANDATE - the power granted by the electorate. That power was granted when the government won the election.
Over the years you will find many issues where one side or another disagreed with a direction taken by a government who had the mandate. The solution ! If you don't like what a government does or doesn't do, then you vote them out at the next
election. Till then they do have the mandate to make changes. Thats the advantage of winning a majority government.
If you have a minority then nothing gets done. I guess when it comes to nuclear power and selling the crowns, isn't that what these people in opposition want in the first place?

Ok I'm a political junkie. Provincial, federal, world - I follow it all. Also enjoy talk radio

Kind of said most of it above. I do love to travel though. Would love to visit every major city out there. Enjoy learning the culture of other countries. I'm a people watcher and a people person. Some say I love to talk and I guess that would be accurate
