Following a horrendous broad day light attack with a machette, the Mayor of Saskatoon wants all machettes banned.
What a knee jerk reaction. How about giving police the power that if they see someone walking down the street with a weapon like that, they can detain them and take the weapon away if necessary, What's next banning crowbars, baseball bats, hammers and anything else that might be a problem. The problem is not the weapon of choice. Its the hands it ends up in.
Try making crime really punishable. Take the people who do these things and get them off the street. I know the goody two shoes, John Howard Societies will scream bloody murder but their way of cuddling the criminals and the justice system's catch and release program hasn't worked and won't work. Try putting the offenders behind bars and keep them there until they learn their lesson. While their gone, our streets would be much safer,

CHEVELDAYOFF DEFENDS USE OF GAS GUZZLER
Who else but Pat Atkinson of the NDP would bring this up? Is that all the opposition party has to do? Is this what Pat and her cohorts draw their salary for?
Cheveldayoff drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Atkinson says he is setting a bad example by driving a gas guzzler.
Says Atkinson, he encouraged Saskatchewan citizens to buy green cars but he drives a gas guzzler himself.
Give me a break Pat. Pat herself drives a Toyota, With the problems being faced by North American Auto Makers do you think Pat might be part of that problem.
