Shovel, Snake, Meet Yogi

BSHT Radio reports today that tunneling operations at correctional centers in Saskatchewan have been put on hold since the appointment of a new correctional Minister on Friday.
Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall today made a number of changes to the provincial cabinet, appointing four new ministers and changing the responsibilities of a number of other ministers. D. F. (Yogi) Huyghebaert - Minister of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing.
Huyghebaert or Yogi as the prisoners will soon affectionately call him replaces
Darryl Hickie who had a number of interesting things happen under his watch including "The Great Escape".
Inmates used a nail clipper and other makeshift tools to tunnel their way out of a Regina jail over a span of four months, a damning report into last summer's escape has revealed.
The report blamed a failure by staff to adequately follow up on intelligence received before the jailbreak, as well as a "counterproductive" organizational culture at the jail, and an "abysmal" relationship between management and union shop stewards.
Throughout the report, there are repeated references to the negative working relationship between staff and management.
Even the prisoners were surprised at the easy way they got out with one quoted as saying "We didn't think we would get away with it"
Yesterday Fred (aka The Shovel), a member of Local 666 of the prisoners union confirmed that with Hickie's departure current tunneling operations and other escape adventures have been postponed until they get a read on the new corrections minister.
*Note Fred did not want his last name used but did say his picture could be used on Facebook.
Fred, aka the Shovel also said a number of his colleagues including Snake and Slice are looking forward to personally meeting "Yogi"
Stay tuned for developments.

Ok I'm a political junkie. Provincial, federal, world - I follow it all. Also enjoy talk radio

Kind of said most of it above. I do love to travel though. Would love to visit every major city out there. Enjoy learning the culture of other countries. I'm a people watcher and a people person. Some say I love to talk and I guess that would be accurate
