In Michael Ignatieff like fashion, Brian Burke and the Toronto Maple Leafs huffed and puffed and in the end did none of the
above. For weeks we heard they would make a deal with the Islanders, then the Lightning and then finally the Kings to ensure that at the very least they would end up with Brayden Schenn uniting him with his brother Luke. It never happened.
Instead the Leafs end up with someone by the name of Nazem Kadri. Now Nazem may be a good hockey player although playing in Toronto will take care of that. But what happened to the Burke bravado and the big deals that never came.
No wonder the fans in Montreal booed.
No wonder the Leafs continue to lose.
