Darian Durant might be pleased to know that the rabid Saskatchewan RoughRider nation and their sportswriters are not the only ones that regularly eat the quarterback. Durant has constantly heard that he is not the quarterback the Riders need to get to the Grey Cup despite the fact that he sports a pretty good record and that the Riders are right in the pack looking for first place and of course with it the home playoff advantage.
I stopped in at the Bills facility in Buffalo, New York. There the bills are trying to become a contender. Most notable among their signings this year has been wide receiver Terrell Owens. But also signed was quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick who comes over from the Cincinatti Bengals. The number one quarterback in Buffalo is Trent Edwards and there the grumbling begins and it sounds almost like Saskatchewan except perhaps a little harsher.
One sports writer wrote that Edwards doesn't know the difference between a football and a foot stool. Now thats a little harsh.
And if you read the sports blogs, the theme almost mirrors Saskatchewan. Edwards is good, but not enough leadership ability some say, others question is ability to call the game and on and on it goes. Critics, whether paid or unpaid, come with the territory of course but it does draw some similarity to Saskatchewan. Keeps me from getting homesick I guess.
I also stopped in at the University of Buffalo football facility, home of the Bulls. What a gorgeous facility. I think most teams in the CFL would love to have a facility like that. I have posted a couple of pictures that really don't even show how nice it is.
Some thoughts on last week in the CFL. Edmonton squeaked out a 31 - 30 win over Hamilton and Calgary got past Toronto
23 - 20 Nice to see the West topping the East again.
So Edmonton sits on top with ten points, Saskatchewan and Calgary with eight and BC with six.
The Riders now start a home and home with Michael Bishop and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Now that will be interesting

- Kind of said most of it above. I do love to travel though. Would love to visit every major city out there. Enjoy learning the culture of other countries. I'm a people watcher and a people person. Some say I love to talk and I guess that would be accurate
