Air Canada - Union In Disarray

The results of all-weekend talks between Air Canada and its main union appeared in disarray Monday morning, as union officials did not even seem to be able to agree on whether – and when – there would be a new vote on a proposal after the Montreal chapter turned down massively the original tentative deal last week.
The above story and headline in the Montreal Gazette caught my eye this morning as Air Canada tries to get their deal done and keep their planes in the air.
Air Canada and Bill Trbovich, spokesperson for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), which represents 12,300 Air Canada employees, both said separately that the two sides agreed to “clarifications” over marathon discussions that lasted all weekend.
Trbovich said that “we can’t even call them negotiations because that upsets some of our members. Call them discussions.”
Over the years Air Canada has taken a lot of heat for, shall we say, their less than friendly demeanor from flight attendants and so on. Recently flew to Kelowna and Ottawa with Air Canada and there certainly is a difference between them and of course that once little airline out of Calgary.
With that in mind, I found some rules written by flight attendants. From which airline, I am not sure but if you think its the airline you fly with, well keep these rules in mind the next time you take off.
Summer Travel Tips or 8 Ways to Avoid Flight Attendant Rage
1. Try to refrain from making clever comments as you board or deplane the aircraft
As you pass by the flight attendants in the first class galley, do not tell them how you like your steak or ask what is for lunch.
2. Be prepared to deal with your own carry-on luggage.
3. Parents, keep your children in check.
4. Keep your pets in their carriers.
5. Time your lavatory visits wisely.
Why is that about 10% of the boarding passengers feel the need to use the lavatory as soon as they get on the plane?
6. Dress appropriately.
7. Follow the electronic device rules
8. Don't preach to the choir.
I'm sorry but we no longer have pillows, magazines, leg room, kids wings, free food in coach, cards, or peanuts. Air travel is not what it used to be thanks to 9/11 and a crumbling economy. I'm sorry.
So there you have it. Some rules from a flight attendant. It leaves me wondering if this person really likes their job.
And there may be an opening for them with at least one airline in Canada.

Ok I'm a political junkie. Provincial, federal, world - I follow it all. Also enjoy talk radio

Kind of said most of it above. I do love to travel though. Would love to visit every major city out there. Enjoy learning the culture of other countries. I'm a people watcher and a people person. Some say I love to talk and I guess that would be accurate
